Strength, Flexibility, Awareness

The Pilates Method of body conditioning is a vigorous, yet mindful total body exercise system designed by Joseph H. Pilates in the early 20th Century. He pioneered the discipline on the mat and using various equipment which he invented to strengthen the center, lengthen the spine, increase body awareness, build muscle tone and gain flexibility. The Pilates technique is comprised of movements designed to balance mobility and stability, and develops strong abdominal and postural muscles to support the skeletal system, helping to alleviate back pain, prevent injury and improve performance in all aspects of life.

The Pilates technique has a progressive nature built into the system so there is a definite development with practice. We do not sacrifice healthy form to a number of reps or added resistance. We want all of our clients to live long, healthy lives, with strength and vitality at every age.

This detailed and individualized approach to fitness ensures access to every muscle, resulting in a long, lean, healthy body. Rather than employing existing movement patterns that use already dominant muscle groups, pilates adjusts imbalances and retrains the neuromuscular system, affecting body-changing results. Problem areas will improve. You will stand taller and look longer and leaner. Pain will decrease. You will move better.
