Pilates for Athletes

Pilates is one of the best forms of conditioning a top-tier athlete can participate in, something professional dancers discovered years ago, and professional athletes across the board are catching on to. Roger Federer, LeBron James, Tiger Woods, Jordy Smith and many others all swear by Pilates. Pilates’ integration of the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle and emphasis on proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment and smooth flowing movement allow athletes to access each part of the body individually, and become familiar with the functional mechanics. With Pilates training, athletes can hit the ball farther, run faster, jump higher – and do it without pain or injury to themselves. We will work on specific needs to compliment your training to help you excel in your sport: posture, balance, mobility, flexibility, stability, coordination, functional strength and endurance.
